Ice fishing on the local Lake Michigan marinas and tributaries from Kenosha to Milwaukee. Some of the best Brown Trout & Steelhead come through the ice each year in our part of the state! The Brown Trout and Steelhead come into our marinas and rivers this time of year to spawn and catching these monster fish on light weight tackle is second to none! For this type of fishing we will typically be using the automatic fisherman devices rigged with a variety of baits as well as jigging a variety of lures. Heated shanties will be provided and all ice trips will be dependent on safe ice conditions.
The Southeastern part of Wisconsin also offers a wide array of lakes supporting a nice Northern Pike fishery. For targeting Northern Pike we will be covering lots of water with an expansive amount of BeaverDam tip-ups baited with an assortment of live and dead bait. Some of the largest Northern Pike become vulnerable as they move shalllow in preparation of spawning after ice-out. If you‘ve never experienced the thrill of hand lining a monster Northern Pike through a hole in the ice this just may be for you! It’s also not uncommon to catch a rather large Bass or Walleye while we target Pike. Panfishing can also be accommodated if you’d like while we wait for bites on our tip-ups. Just let me know prior to the trip so I can bring necessary equipment. Again heated shacks are available and trips will always be dependent on safe ice conditions.
Ice fishing season generally lasts from mid December through February and sometimes into mid March. Our game fishing season in Wisconsin closes after the first weekend in March so any trips after that will only be targeting trout or panfish by request. I can accommodate groups of up to 5 people for ice fishing trips. If you would like to fish a particular species or lake let me know. All trips include heated shanties as well as all other necessary equipment. Trips may be postponed if unsafe ice conditions are present.
